Quintilus I was born in Telos as the first child of then Emperor Gaius and Empress Julia, and was educated privatly at the royal residence. From birth Quintilus I was the crown prince and began to undertake Imperial Duties in 1504 at the age of 16. In 1510 he married Julia, Princess of Drahen, with he had two sons, Quintilus II and Crassius.
