Template:Infobox noble house The House of Herschel is the elected royal house of Gehenna as well as the royal house of several Gehennan Nations. It was founded by Wilhelm II in Marth of 762. Wilhelm II, through his military skill, took over the castle Herschelburg thereby allowing him to lift himself from lowborn to nobility as he took the name of the castle for his own House. His house would be solidified when he was later granted the title of Duke of Badenburg.

Through the use of mostly marriage and bits of warfare, House Herschel became a major house of the Gehennan High Kingdom and later Gehennan Empire. The House would eventually gain the titles of both King of Deltoria and King of Schermany. With this foundation, the House was elected and Hermann I became High King in 1011. Hermann I would also be the first of the noble houses to become Kaiser as the result of then secret negotiations with Lanlania and decree of the Aldes. House Herschel has been continuously elected Kaiser since 1380, and since the marriage of Ludkhannah von Saltzenburg and Wilhelm IX in 1458 the House has been guaranteed reelection as it controls
