Zascitnik

Zascitnik is a missile technology developed by the Republic of Mordvania indepedently of the Svetlob Program. Zascitnik means "Protector" in Mordvanian language.

After the Mordvanian civil war, Mordvania found out that it needed an accurate short-range missiles, as the existing Abdanian rockets were unguided and thus very inaccurate. Thus, missile technology from Kubaniza was bought in 1569. But those missiles did not satisfy Mordvanians because of their short range, relatively light warhead and bulky structure. So a project was assigned to Aerospace Industries Corporation, established in 1569, to design and produce a guided short-range missile.

Zascitnik-172

Zascitnik-100 was originally based on technology from Gehenna and the Democratic People's Republic of Severyane. However, it was redesigned completely in early 1572, and the missile was never tested.

Zascitnik-172 is a single-stage solid-propellant, surface-to-surface missile with at least a 350 km range, and it was produced domestically within Mordvania by the Aerospace Industries Corporation, including the solid fuel propellant. Mordvania sucessfully tested the final version of the Zascitnik-172 in Dein 1574. Several weeks later the Aerospace Industries Corporation opened a plant to mass-produce the Zascitnik-172. The initial range of the missile was 300 km but in Zechyr 1575 it was announced that it had been extended to 350 km and if needed it could be increased further.

Severyane was claimed to play a leading role in the development of the Zascitnik-172 system, as neither the Kingdom of Abdania and Mordvania nor the Republic of Mordvania had no previous experience with solid fuelled ballistic misiles. First tests occurred in late 1574 which were successful, and the missile was put into production.

The Zascitnik-172 was tested in a real conflict for first time during the Kaljurand Civil War. In 1576, a version with extended range of 380 km was unvelied. This version is probably the one offered for export.

Zascitnik-200

In 1577, it was reported that the Republic of Mordvania had been working in an improved system from the Zascitnik-172, this time entirely based on Mordvanian technology.

On 11 Dein 1579, Mordvanian announced that it had succesfully test fired a new missile called Zascitnik-200. Minister of Defense Milan Kravanja said on state TV that "the missile has new technical aspects and has an unique tactical capacity". Kravanja also stated that "Zascitnik-200 has been equipped with new technical specifications and exceptional tactical powers", although he did not mention the range of the missile. It was reported that the Zascitnik-200 was able to be launched from various types of launchers. It has been also reported that Zascitnik-200 is a radar-evading missile and that the time for preparing and launching the missile has been minimized compared the Zascitnik-172.

In late 1580, an upgraded version of Zascitnik-200 was tested by Mordvania. It was announced that accuracy, range, reaction time and storage capabiity in different parts of the country are increased. The range of the missile was stated as 800 km. It was not expected to replace the Svetlob system, which has a large range and warhead, but it was considered an important development for the Mordvanian Armed Forces, as Zascitnik-200 is cheaper and easier to produce compared to Svetlob-3 missiles.

In 1581, Mordvanian minister of defense Vitomir Batagek announced that the missile was now beling delivered to the Mordvanian Armed Forces.

In late 1584, Mordvanian sources confirmed that East Kaljurand had received Zascitnik-200 missiles and inducted them into their missile arsenal. With a 500-800 km range, Zascitnik-200 missiles fired from central East Kaljurand could hit targets anywhere in West Kaljurand and Nerysian territorial waters.

In 1586, Mordvania successfully test-fired the third generation of Zascitnik-200 missiles, destroying a 5 m target from 400 km.

Zascitnik-300

Zascitnik-300 is an single-stage solid-propellant, supersonic anti-ship quasi ballistic missile with a range of 350 km based on the Zascitnik-200 missile. It is equipped with a 680 kg explosive warhead and an interception evading guidance system.

The missile was unveiled in 1587, when the Chief of the General Staff of the Mordvanian Armed Forces, General Wieslaw Lubanowsky, announced that it is being mass-produced. The Mordvanian-owned MTV television channel released a footage of the missile hitting a target ship successfully. The missile was first tested during Operation Soprus naval wargames in late 1587. Nylander expert Lars Hoogamen describes the missile as a game changer if used against Biyran navy on the Viska Bay and Biyran Sea or West Kaljuran and Nerysian targets on Laural Sea.

The Zascitnik-300 has officially an operating range of 350 km. It has reportedly an advanced electronic system that allows the missile to discover and navigate to the target. The missile relies on its own internal navigation system, allowing it to travel without radio interference.
