Rodric Padraig Mallroy (Born 14 Nueva, 1533) is a Kōkina politician, currently serving as the Imperial Minister of Kōkina and as the chairman of the Restoration Party.

Rodric is the only surviving child of Francis Mallroy and Sara Mallroy (nee. Welles), originally the younger of the pair of brothers. His father was a simple sailor and later a member of the militias kept by ethnic DeSchanians in Kōkina during the quiet oppression age. His mother was a farmer and inherited a plot of the farm upon her father's death.

Early Life and Education

Rodric was born in the DeSchanian-ethnic city of Aldrick, on the mainland. The City, being the capital of the internal Petty Kingdom of Tearmann, a noble Kingdom under the Imperial Crown, stood as one of the last bastions of DeSchanian culture in Kōkina. Rodric spent most of his young life at primary and secondary school, showing an intelligent aptitude and being fast-tracked into secondary school, where he studied social sciences and politics. The Government passed a law banning fast-tracking in schools outside the Imperial Province, forcing Rodric to re-enter primary school and re-take classes in high school.

As a result, at age 16, he dropped out to join the DeSchanian Militias.

Rodric served in a small militia tasked with police and official military duty within the Waterfront District of Aldrick. His service lasted 5 years and resulted in his status as Captain. With that officer status, he applied to the Imperial Academy. He was accepted to the Imperial Academy School of Social Sciences and History. At age 27, Rodric was certified with a Masters in History and Political Science, graduating third in his class.

Post-University Career

Rodric decided not to take a doctoral course, citing meeting his to-be wife as the reason (explaining that he missed registration because of a night on the town). His wife, Miziaki Houden, was a clerk at an office for the SDP in the capital. Rodric was able to score a job as an analyst in the SDP at that time.

Rodric worked dilligently, being cited as one of the most productive analysts in the party, until the party founder announced their new campaign of integration. During an incident where the party cleaned out the staff that refused to embrace the culture of the land, Rodric and his wife were both fired. Rodric claims it was random, while the new Nationalist Party (Kōkina) insisted it was due to his subversive nature to the culture of Kōkina.

Rodric registered to run for election as the Member of Assembly for his home city, and won.

Political Career

At age 28, Rodric was elected the Member of the Assembly for Aldrick. Rodric became an official member of the Restoration Party later in that year at the urging of his constituents. Rodric, therefore, became a backbencher in the party seating list. Sitting all the way at the back, Rodric also sat at the edge of the SDP seating. Rodric remained here until the 4 Septem incident. SDP lost a majority when the Republican faction seperated from them. The Restoration Party had the majority.

Rodric called for a recall of the Imperial Minister

Party Leadership

As the recall came to a success, Rodric was now locked in battle with senior Restoration Party politicians. The nobility in the upper house happened to lead the party. Rodric represented the lower house and the people's will as the Imperial Minister. The party now had a decision; to elect a member of the people or to elect someone from the nobility. The Empress, at this time, was considered a prisoner of the SDP. Restoration members sought to end this.

Rodric presented a plan to free the monarchy, and the party endorsed it. At the official vote on the 7th of Septem, Rodric was elected as the leader of the Party.

Imperial Minister

As leader of the Party, Rodric was invited to the Imperial Palace to be confirmed as the Imperial Minister. Izumi II confirmed him as the Imperial Minister, and the cabinet was announced. The SDP shadow cabinet suddenly went into a frenzy in the Parliamentary chamber, obstructing each vote. In early 1566, the 9 Alvan Incident occurred. SDP armed militias attempted to capture the Sovereign, resulting in a state of Emergency. Hakado O'Rama, the Shadow Minister of Foreign and Imperial Affairs, was among them. Through political maneuvering and intense speaking, O'Rama turned on the SDP radicals in secret, and betrayed them in the name of the true SDP.

The SDP Nationalists coup fell to the wayside, and Rodric appeared with a majority in the Assembly. Nothing blocked his reforms now. The Sovereign was given a substantial margin of power, while now being made responsible by the people directly, not the assembly. The SDP fractured yet again into Nationalists and the SDP. The SDP lost it's supermajority that it held for the past 27 years.
