There are dozens if not hundreds of diverse religions in the world. Over 60% of the world's population identifies as "religious", while 15% identify as atheists. The largest religions in the world areMessanism, Akhadism, Janharism.

The majority of the largest religions in the modern world are monotheistic, though several polytheistic religions are dominant in the east — especially in areas not touched by Brigidnan imperialism During the 13th and 14th centuries.

Essaanic

Essaanic religions are monotheistic religions that originate from the Essaan valley in central Brigidna, including both Mahkalism and Messanism.

Mahkalism

Mahkalism is the oldest Essaanic religion, believed to have originated in modern-day Mahkal over four-thousand years ago. It is based primarily on the Al’syfyr, a holy text believed to have been written by Yisdal, an Ancient Mahkal king. Though the Mahkal originally dominated the Essaan valley, they were reduced to their modern day borders over the centuries. There are approximately 30 million Mahkalists today, the majority living in Mahkal.

Messanism

Noel, the central figure of Messanism.

Messanism is based on the life and teachings of Noel, as presented in the Biva. It believes Noel the son of God, Rune, who descended to the world to bring salvation. The majority of Messanites believe in the Trinity, which states that Rune, Noel, and Salma are one in the same — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As the religion of the High Kingdom of Lanlania and later of Western Brigidna as a whole, Messanism has spread globally. It's main divisions are:

Kanaadian

Kanaadian religions are those from the Brigidnan Near East. Though the region is largely Messanic and Akhadist today, there are still traces of earlier religions that were once dominant in the region, including Rasticanism.

Akhadism

Akhadism is somesuch or othersuch whats.

Rasticanism

The prophet Raast and his family.

Rasticanism is based on the teachings of Raast, a prophet in the 11th century BCE, which were recorded in the Ashistra. Zarrastians worship Mazah'dra, who they believe created the universe. They also believe that his brother, Azura'mah, is attempting to destroy it. The two brothers represent god and evil, and is just one example of Rasticanism's heavy dualism.

Rajaadian

Rajaadian religions refers to the faiths practiced in Ishnalla and the Rajaad subcontinent. The largest is likely Janharism, which originated in western Ishnalla in prehistoric times. Rajaadian religions are largely polytheistic and have a multitude of rites, duties, and laws.

Janharism

Janharism is perhaps the oldest of religions, and is at times deeply ingrained in the cultures of its practitioners — most notably in Ishnalla. The religion believes in a multitude of gods, the chiefs of which are Asalam, the creator, Rakhola, the preserver, and Yod'nsa the destroyer. Janharist believe in karma and reincarnation, with the ultimate goal of one's existence being to ascend to live with the gods.
