Geography
Herlev is located mostly on the narrow, low-lying coastal plain of Herlev's western coast, facing the Laural Sea. It also consists of two nearby offshore islands. While the city does not sit on any major rivers or lakes, the River Heltin flows for 42.3 kilometres through the western part of the city from it's source, in the eastern highlands, to it's mouth in Fros Bay. The city's highest point is 45 metres. As with many larger Oslanburgan cities, Herlev is divided into districts, of which there are seventeen.
Districts
Climate
Herlev has a mild oceanic climate, characterized by the effects of the warm current that rides up the Brigidann. Summers are warm and mild with a Zechyr-Nueva mean of 23.5 °C (74.3 °F), while winters are cold, snowy, and windy, with a Treizen-Dosa mean just below freezing. However, extreme weather is uncommon. The maritime influences on the climate mean that Spring comes relatively late but also that autumns are fairly mild.
Precipitation is moderate, increasing in the autumn months and peaking in Tolven. Snowfall is usually moderate as well and rarely comes before Treizen or after Dosa. The city is often battered by storms between Vintyr and Alvan, both snow and heavy rains, while in the summer such storms are fairly rare.
Economy
Herlev is Oslanburg's largest business and financial centre, with it's metropolitan area generating 21% of the country's gross domestic product. The city proper alone produces 15% of the country's GDP, and with a nominal per capita GDP of $69,882 it is one of the richest cities in the country with a per capita GDP nearly double that of the national average.
The city's economy is heavily focused on the tertiary sector, which now accounts for nearly three-quarters of all jobs in the capital. Finance, healthcare, tourism, information technology, media, pharmaceuticals, and retail are major industries, with Oslanburg being home to the headquarters of Oslanburg's largest financial services companies (Curben Finans, Sydlige Nationalt Banken, and ByGruppe), one of the largest telecommunications companies (Gruner Multen), and the second largest private (Teleos) media companies.
While industrial activity in Oslanburg has greatly declined over the past few decades, there remains an industrial presence in the city, mostly in the northern districts but also in parts of the city's eastern districts. This is mostly light industry, such as food processing factories, breweries, shoe factories, and manufacturing of computer components, but there is also heavy industry centred in the eastern districts.
Herlev has among the highest wages in the country on average, but the tax burden and the cost of living are also both relatively high. The city also has fairly high levels of inequality, with the average ethnic Oslan being substantially better off than the average immigrant and the residents of the city's eastern districts being better off than those living in the west.
Administration
Municipal government
The Municipality of Herlev is distinct from the wider Herlev urban area. The seat of Herlev's municipal council is the Herlev City Hall (Herlev Rådhus). The council is chaired by the Lord Mayor of Herlev, who with two selected vice-mayors overlooks the 15 representatives of the council who are given civic duties to perform. The council usually meets every other week, and they discuss a range of issues including labour and employment, business growth, economics, international cooperation and IT, urban planning, housing and construction, healthcare, and traffic, with a central focus on making the city sustainable and meeting environmental and health targets.
All members of the council are elected every five years. In the municipal elections in November 1567, the Oslanburg Democratic gained the larges share of the votes, meaning ODP candidate Finnick Snuv became the new Lord Mayor, replacing Cathrine Ahlström of the ULP (United Labour Party), ending the 55 year reign of the ULP holding the Lord Mayor seat of the capital.
The municipal government is divided into right administrative departments; Employment and Integration, Culture and Leisure, Healthcare, Finance, Child and Youth, Social Services, Technical and Environmental Administration, and Transportation. It has six political committees and a finance committee. The annual budget for the city is proposed in Alvan and finalized in Marth and a annual report is published in Septem of every year.

Air
The greater Herlev area is served primarily by two airports. The largest airport in Oslanburg with four runways and with one up to 4000 metres, and one of the largest in Brigidna, is the primary airport serving the city, Docrun Fenru International Airport, located 30 kilometres south east of the city centre in the municipality of Jefun. Docrun Fenru handles approximately 59 million passengers annually and is the main international hub for both of Oslanburg's two largest airlines, Luft Wurberg and Luft Trigal. It is the primary international airport in Oslanburg, and is served by routes to more than 100+ international destinations.
Herlev is also served by Herlev City Airport, located 10 kilometres south of the city centre. It was the primary airport for the city from it's opening in 1476 until Docrun opened in 1515, but it is presently only served by domestic and limited international traffic, serving 3,393,964 passengers annually.
Including all airports with scheduled commercial services, the Herlev metropolitan region's airport system served 62.4 million passengers in 1571, just over 94% of whom used Docrun Fenru International Airport.
Rail
Herlev is primarily served by two stations for intercity rail; one for trains bound north and west and another serving trains bound south. The former is the largest and busiest train station in the country and the main terminal for high-speed rail, with, on weekdays, 100+ daily departures to other cites across the state
