History

Template:Main Article==== Pre-History and Antiquity ==== Excavations throughout Mithraina revealed an ancient pre-human presence dating back some 100,000 years ago, modern humans arrived in the area around 30,000 years ago. The ancient people of pre-Mirthii Mithraina migrated from somewhere to the North-East of the Brigidnian Super continent. Between 1800 and 1700 BCE the Erthaesians established contact with the fledgling Mirthii tribes and began to set up colonies in the North and Western areas of modern Mithraina. This area became known as Erthaes Inferius.

The Mirthii tribes had several small settlements in the area, having just developed agriculture and better metal tools, the largest of which became known as Cappadociem. This city would become the cultural and scientific capitol of the Mirthii Tribal Hegemony in the hundreds of years to come.

Around the year 1500 BCE it became the seat of the Mirthiian Kingdom, a state which was founded when Tiberius Caius Cato inherited the position of Chief in twelve of the thirteen tribes. Tiberius Caius Cato slaughtered the thirteenth tribe when they refused to submit to his reign, and seized the land. He subjugated or slaughtered many of the surrounding indigenous tribes, earning him the name Tiberius "Occisor" Cato which he willingly embraced. He then turned his eye to what he considered a more rewarding prize. Tiberius invaded and began seizure of the Erthaesian Colonies.
