The Democratic Republic of Caladria, is a small island nation in the Maldavines. It is a parliamentary representative democracy, with national elections being held every four years. A popular vacation resort and retirement destination for Nylander citizens, due to its climate and exotic culture. A former Carpathian colony, it was established in 1364 and for the majority of its colonial period it was a trading outpost and resupply port for Carpathian ships.
It declared its independence in 1409 and with Nylander support and many historians agree that the fall of the strategically important outpost of Caladria and the devastating blow the Carpathian Imperial Navy received at the battle of PLACEHOLDER were the crucial nails in the coffin for the Carpathian Empire. For this reason, relations between Carpathia and Moldova and Caladria are cool, as most Carpathians tend to view Caladria as the reason their empire ended.
