The Saratovan Federation, or commonly known as Saratov, is a nation located in Northern Brigidna. It borders Southern Severyane,South Eastern Biyra, Eastern Nentsia, and Western Kubaniza.

Etymology

There is no known origin of the name Saratov, though it is believed to be derived from the name Sarativ, the tribe that dominated all of the Saratov mainland, as well as the territories west and south of it.

History

North

Early History

Saratovian-Vostic tribes settled in the South above the lake where there was a vast amount of room for hunting, gathering and farming. The tribes learned to adapt to the harsh winters. The tribes eventually formed Tribal Councils. A notable tribe which were ethnically Sarativ staged a large military campaign against most other tribes of Saratov. The tribes of Kremon and Zusian fell the Sarativ council. After multiple conquests the Sarativ reform into a Tribal Despotism and it establishes borders. Shortly after the Sarativ conquered the rest of the tribes in Saratov it began expanded more into the South, North, West, and East. As a result this forms unfriendly relations with the countries surrounded it but it never leads to war. Around 1790 BCT, the Sarativ Despotism reforms into a Imperial Monarchy calling itself the Saratov Imperium. After it reformed the leadership began to invest more into its economy and infrastructure.

The Saratov Educational system is largely controlled by the government, with limited control given to Provincial Governments. Saratov has an illiteracy rate of 12%. High Education is publicly funded by the Government, College/University sudents pay only for housing and food services.

Saratov uses a Universal Public Health System that is managed by the Saratovan Government. Healthcare is Saratov is considered a fundamental human right, private healthcare is largely reserved for high-class citizens.

Media and Journalism is completely free, journalists and media are free to write about everything, except supporting ethnic hatred. The most used form of media, entertainment, and information is the internet which accounts for 70 percent of Saratovian population. Radio is the second to the internet, with the most popular station being Radio Bukovina. Television is the least popular form of media in Saratov and is slowly dying out, there is only 100-200 stations on television. Advertising is heavily regulated.

Saratov is home to one of the largest game development scenes in the world, with many globally successful companies. It's scene dates back to the 1520s with arcades being a common sight. Video Games is the most popular form of entertainment in Saratov, many view it as a replacement to films. As a result, Saratov video game companies produce a wide range of genres.

Saratovan cuisine is marked by a strong emphasis on fish, meat, and wheat. Pork and fish are the most common meats. Bread is usually served in the form of a sandwich or served plain as a side.

Sports

Saratov has invested in many athletic facilities including stadia, gymnasia, swimming pools, soccer fields, and many other facilities. Football is a massive sport in Saratov with most children upon the 1st grade getting involved in Football. Second to Football is gymnastics and hockey.
