The Witenagemot is the unicameral national legislature of the Kingdom of Arrenland. Its members, called witan, are elected by popular vote from each district within each shire. The witan choose a canceler to be the head of the assembly by a majority vote.

The Witenagemot originally consisted of earls, thanes, top clergymen, and other influential people. The Witenagemot and similar assemblies were in existence in the several Arrene kingdoms in medieval Arrenland. The forerunner to the Witenagemot was the folcmoot, a gathering of free men to settle disputes and make decisions. Folcmoots continued their existence for centuries and are still evident today in how local and city councils are organized and named.
