KyrzAir is the flag carrier of the Democratic Republic of Kyrzbekistan, based in Ayduramazan. It operates scheduled, doemstic and international services on 70 routes from its main hub, the Aydur Amazan International Airport, and from its secondary hub, Qendere Federal Airport. It is a state-owned company. It was incorporated in March 1576 and started commercial flights on Quartyr 1576.

History

The Arberian-Kyrzbek War (also known as the Kyrzbekistani Revolutionary War) affected the existing airlines in the Kingdom of Arberia. After the abolition of the monarchy and the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Kyrzbekistan, the state-owned airine, Air-Arbere merged with two private-owned airlines which had been nationalized by the new socialist government. As a consequence, Kyrzbekistani Airlines was created, with scheduled flights from the Qendere International Airport being launched in 1569.

Kazakhstan Airlines was an airline from Kazakhstan, serving as national flag carrier of the country from its independence in 1991 until 1996, when this role was transferred to Air Kazakhstan following the disaster of Flight 1907.

Accidents and incidents

Kyrzbekistani Airlines was involved in the Frasheri mid-air collision, which occurred on 18 Septem 1571 and -with its 338 fatalities- marks one of the deadliest air disastrrs in history, after a Kyrzbekistani Airlines plane collided with a flight of Zargistani Airlines. Investigation into the accident revealed that the pilots of the Zargistani flight had descended from their assigned altitude, which was attributed to poor training and language skills.

On Alvan 1576, another Kyrzbekistani Airlines aircraft arriving from New Galasia crashed on landing at Elene State Airport, All 55 passengers and 7 crew members were killed. The crash resulted in the temporary closure of the airport.

There were another four accidents resulting in an aircraft of Kyrzbekistani Airlines being written-off, none of which resulted in any reported fatalities.

Creation of KyrzAir

The Kyrzbekistani government declared in early 1576 that Kyrzbekistani Airlines was bankrupt, transferring its assets to enwly founded KyrzAir.

Destinations

KyrzAir's 70 routes include most of the major cities in Kyrzbekistan and an increasing number of neighboring Near East as well as Ostaran and Brigidnan cities. Since 1578 it has launched services to Ashkabad, Tarkek, Erpheus, Ishanbal, I'balan, Cias, Gall, Agridbah, Cathedrium, and from 1590 to A'behz, Severograd, Etova, Bucharest, Bakurgrund, and Tokasa.

Personnel

KyrzAir has more than 5,000 employees. Despite the fact that the company directly hires staff for international offices, most of the employees are citizens of Kyrzbekistan. It employs over 600 pilots, about a fourth of whom are non-Kyrzbekistani nationals recruited principally in Brigidna. The airline's cabin crew consists of over 1,200 flight attendants (Kyrzbekistani nationals), most of them being women.

Other activities

Since 1582, KyrzAir is the main sponsor of the KyrzAir Cycling Team, Kyrzbekistan's main professional cycling team.

The company also sponsors the Tour of Kyrzbekistan, an one-week cycling race, as well as the men's football first division league.
