The Hejdar Union (HU) is a union politico-union economic union of five states located in southern Brigidna. It operates through a system of supranational institutions and intergovernmental decisions by the member-states. The primary institutions are the Hejdar Council, the Hejdar High Court, the Hejdar Common Command, the Hejdar Audit Administration, and the Hejdar Parliament.

It is the success to the First and Second Hejdar League, founded in #1300s by Felis, Freesia, Cyrus, and Selisa and restored by Freesia, Felis, and Cyrus in #1400s. The modern Hejdar Union was established in 1552 by the Treaty of Union, which introduced Hejdar citizenship.

The HU has developed a single market through shared legislation, and has complete open-borders through the Sesse Agreement. It has had a monetary union since 1554, with the Hej being the sole legal tender in its member-states. The Hejdar Council assists in coordinating a consistent foreign policy, while the Hejdar Common Command coordinates military cooperation.

Etymology

The word "Hejdar" is believed to originate in the Lanlanian Hajd Jarl or high duke. Hajd Jarls were noblemen installed by the High Kingdom of Lanlania who ruled over the region of the modern-day union. When the Lanlanian were expelled from the area, many of their titles remained, including Hajd Jarl. Over time, the term evolved into simply Hejdar. The First Hejdar League of #800s marked the first time numerous lords of central Brigidna banded together against foreign invasion.
